She’d been stung by a scorpion earlier in the day, but thankfully, she was okay, just a little swelling. Without my glasses on, I saw a familiar blonde head peering from behind her, and in an instant, I knew it was Emma. Tears immediately welled up. It was one of the most heartwarming surprises I’ve ever experienced, a true testament to the love and thoughtfulness of my daughters.

Spending this precious time with Emma has been an absolute delight. We’re planning a special dinner out tonight, and tomorrow, I’ll even share some of the birthday fun with you all during a live Facebook video. And what’s a birthday without fireworks and cake? We’ll be celebrating with both! These moments of togetherness are truly invaluable, especially as the kids grow older and embark on their own adventures. I’m relishing every single second of it.

In just over a month, Alex (Lexi) will be heading off to Germany for a year, and it feels like that day has arrived incredibly quickly! I’m already dreaming of making a trip over to see her. I promise to keep you all posted on her adventures and my plans. These family gatherings and the delicious meals we share become even more significant, creating memories that last a lifetime.
