A Week of Triumphs and Culinary Delights

This past week was filled with exciting personal milestones and, as always, an incredible array of culinary masterpieces from all of you. It’s always a joy to connect with our community and witness the diverse talents on display.

Speaking of personal achievements, I had the immense pleasure of witnessing a significant moment for my family. Mr. 365, our son, and I made the scenic drive up to Lake Havasu, Arizona. The destination was not for a leisurely getaway, but to support our daughter as she competed with her college team in her very first Olympic distance triathlon. The atmosphere was electric, a true testament to human endurance and spirit.

Watching her prepare, seeing the determination in her eyes, and then cheering her on through the swimming, biking, and running segments was an experience I’ll never forget. She trained diligently for months, facing early mornings and challenging workouts, all leading up to this demanding event. The Olympic distance triathlon is no small feat, encompassing a 1.5 km swim, a 40 km bike ride, and a 10 km run, all done consecutively without much pause. The sheer dedication required for each discipline, let alone combining them into one cohesive race, is truly inspiring.

Her goal was to finish in under three hours, a challenging target for a first-timer. The anticipation on race day was palpable, not just for her, but for us as her cheering squad. The sun glinted off the waters of Lake Havasu as she began the swim, gracefully cutting through the water. Then came the transition to the bike, a blur of motion as she pedaled with unwavering focus. Finally, the run, where every step demanded mental fortitude as much as physical strength. To see her cross that finish line, exhausted yet triumphant, in just under three hours, was an overwhelming moment of pride. She did absolutely wonderfully, exceeding her own expectations and ours.

I honestly don’t know how these incredible athletes manage it! Juggling three different sports, each requiring a unique set of skills and endurance, all within the span of a single morning, is simply astounding. Just thinking about the physical and mental stamina required for a triathlon makes me feel wonderfully tired! It was a powerful reminder of what passion and perseverance can achieve, and it deeply reinforced my belief in setting goals and striving to reach them.

And now, back to our amazing community! We are so happy to have you all here again this week. You all CONTINUE to AMAZE me with your absolute AWESOMENESS! Every week, the quality and creativity of the links shared simply blow us away. You are all SO very talented and deserve a HUGE pat on the back, and perhaps a BIG baking hug (or two or three!) to celebrate your fantastic contributions. Thank you for making Wicked Good Wednesdays such a vibrant and inspiring place to be.

My Wicked Pick of the Week goes out to…

Mint Balls from Real Housemoms

Refreshing Mint Balls, a perfect treat

As many of you know, I have a significant weakness for anything mint-flavored, so when I spotted these incredible Mint Balls from Stacey at Real Housemoms, I knew they would be my Wicked Pick. These delightful little spheres promise a burst of refreshing flavor that is simply irresistible. Picture a cool, vibrant mint essence wrapped in a delightful, melt-in-your-mouth texture.

The beauty of these mint balls isn’t just in their refreshing taste but also in their versatility. They could serve as a perfect after-dinner palate cleanser, a festive holiday treat, or even a sweet pick-me-up during the day. Stacey’s recipe seems to capture that ideal balance where the mint is prominent but not overpowering, leaving you with a wonderfully clean and sweet finish. I can almost guarantee that if these were in my kitchen, they would be gone in NO time at all, and I would very happily be the only one eating them! It’s the kind of treat that truly speaks to personal cravings and offers a moment of pure, unadulterated enjoyment. If you share my love for mint, you absolutely need to visit Real Housemoms for this fantastic recipe!
