Embracing Simplicity During a Hectic Season

We truly hope your past week was filled with joy and relaxation, offering a much-needed respite from the Thanksgiving festivities. The post-holiday period often plunges us straight into the frenetic pace of the year-end shopping season. While the excitement of finding perfect gifts can be thrilling, it undeniably adds another layer of demands to our already packed schedules. This year, my usual Black Friday shopping spree took a backseat to travel, and I must confess, as the years go by, my patience for navigating crowded stores seems to wane. There’s a particular kind of chaos that emerges during these peak shopping weekends, especially in larger retailers, which I now consciously avoid. My strategy for the coming weeks involves either quick, late-evening runs mid-week or, even better, entrusting one of the kids with the mission! This preference for tranquility extends beyond shopping; it’s a desire for simplicity in all aspects of life, especially when it comes to daily essentials like meals.

This past week also brought an unwelcome guest: a persistent illness that left me battling a cough, fever, and an overall feeling of malaise. What started as a common cold now seems to be evolving into a sinus infection, making it hard to concentrate and impossible to stop coughing. A quick trip to Urgent Care this morning was a priority to get some much-needed medication. When you have a busy schedule and commitments, like an upcoming Facebook LIVE video (which I’m now planning for Tuesday to ensure I’m feeling my best), getting back to full health becomes paramount. This experience really underscores the importance of having a robust meal plan in place. When you’re not feeling well, the last thing you want to do is ponder what to cook or spend hours in the kitchen. A well-prepared meal plan ensures that nourishing, comforting food is always within reach, helping you recover faster and maintain your energy levels.
