As someone who finds it hard to go a week without pizza, I was absolutely thrilled to discover that the Coral Princess proudly serves what USA Today has lauded as “The Best Pizza at Sea.” And believe me, they are not exaggerating! While I haven’t sampled pizza on every cruise line, I can confidently say this pizza was truly delicious and easily among the best I’ve ever had, anywhere. Each pizza is freshly hand-tossed, allowing for a perfectly crisp crust, and can be customized with classic cheese or a variety of fresh, flavorful ingredients. It’s the perfect choice for a casual, satisfying meal and is guaranteed to quell any pizza craving you might have while cruising the high seas.

Sabatini’s: An Authentic Italian Trattoria
For an elevated dining experience, Sabatini’s, the ship’s elegant Italian restaurant, offers a sophisticated ambiance and a menu filled with classic and contemporary Italian dishes. During our cruise, we enjoyed several wonderful evenings at Sabatini’s, savoring its refined flavors and impeccable service.
A personal recommendation, if available, is the Artichoke Soufflé. This appetizer was an absolute revelation – light, flavorful, and incredibly delicious, setting a high standard for the courses to follow.
Another highlight for us was the Pasta Primavera. This vibrant dish, brimming with fresh vegetables and perfectly cooked pasta, became a favorite vegetarian option for Lexi, who enjoyed it on multiple occasions. Sabatini’s commitment to creating fresh and flavorful dishes, even for specific dietary needs, truly shone through.
Beyond these specific mentions, Sabatini’s typically offers a comprehensive Italian menu, featuring exquisite antipasti, a variety of hand-made pasta dishes, succulent seafood, and tender meat courses, all prepared with an authentic touch. The Bayou Cafe: A Taste of New Orleans at Sea
Without a doubt, The Bayou Cafe emerged as my absolute favorite dining spot on the entire ship. The food here was simply AH-MAZING! We dined there twice, and I genuinely wished for a third visit – no exaggeration. This specialty restaurant perfectly captures the soulful essence of New Orleans and the American South, delivering robust flavors and an unforgettable atmosphere.
The Carpetbagger’s Trinity Smothered Filet of Beef completely stole my heart. This steak was nothing short of phenomenal. A truly unique touch at The Bayou Cafe is the presentation of a tray of knives, allowing you to select your preferred steak knife – a small detail that significantly enhances the dining experience! When offered, make sure to ask for all three specialty salts: Pink Himalayan, Black Lava, and Applewood Smoked. Each salt subtly highlights the meat in a different way, adding incredible depth and complexity to an already perfect steak.
Beyond the magnificent steak, the side dishes are equally impressive. I had never tried succotash before, but I instantly fell in love with the rendition served at our table – it was fresh, vibrant, and perfectly balanced. And do not, under any circumstances, miss ordering the grits! They are absolutely out-of-this-world creamy and flavorful, a true Southern comfort food done right.

We concluded our meals with delicious desserts, including a satisfying Fried Yellow Peach Pie. We also celebrated Sandra’s birthday with a wonderful chocolate cake, reminiscent of Mama Loves Food’s Easy Chocolate Overload Cake made with Box Cake Mix. Leaving The Bayou Cafe each night, I was a very happy and satisfied woman, already planning my return before the cruise ended.

The Coral Princess features elegant main dining rooms, such as the Bordeaux and Provence Dining Rooms, which offer a more traditional and refined dinner experience included in your cruise fare. Our final night culminated in a magnificent Farewell Dinner held in the Bordeaux Dining Room. This special evening is designed to celebrate the journey and create lasting memories. The undisputed highlight of the night was the spectacular Baked Alaska Parade. As the lights in the dining room dimmed, chefs and servers paraded through the room, carrying trays adorned with beautifully flaming Baked Alaska desserts, all accompanied by festive music. It was a truly delightful and memorable spectacle, providing a grand conclusion to our culinary adventure.
Having never tasted Baked Alaska before, I was particularly excited about this moment. Not only was the presentation incredibly beautiful, but the dessert itself was quite delicious – a perfect balance of warm meringue, cold ice cream, and moist cake. While I doubt my home attempts could ever replicate the artistry of Chef Jeremy’s creation, the memory of this dessert remains vivid.
Unforgettable Culinary Highlights: Beyond the Main Meals
Beyond the primary dining venues, certain dishes truly left a lasting impression, becoming memorable highlights of our cruise. These smaller delights often encapsulate the exceptional quality and culinary artistry found across the Coral Princess.
The Chocolate Pistachio Dome was one such revelation. Seriously, it was utterly delicious! I half-joked about experiencing withdrawal symptoms once back home, but thankfully, Jen from Baked By an Introvert has a wonderful recipe for Chocolate Pistachio Dome that allows us to recreate this exquisite treat.
However, the Gorgonzola Rolls served in the Bordeaux and Provence Dining Rooms were truly magical. These rolls were so light, incredibly airy, and infused with just the right amount of tangy gorgonzola cheese. I was genuinely tempted to discreetly tuck a few into my purse to enjoy later in our cabin! I’ve tried to recreate them at home without success, but the quest continues, so keep an eye out for a future recipe. Aren’t they simply gorgeous?
